• Language •

The larp will mainly happen in Swedish, which represents Lenorian. This means that your understanding of Swedish represents how well you can understand and speak Lenorian – or a closely related language such as Norni. Other languages, such as Seran/Javenian (also closely related), Rakkhari languages and other foreign languages will be represented by English.

•Rules

This larp will use Eloria's common larp rules. This document is available only in swedish, so a brief english version will be provided.

• Lidas - currency
The currency in Lenori is called lidas, and is a representative currency made up of colored stones. The larp uses a simplified version where three different values are used:
1 lidas - Colourless stone
3 lidas - Blue / green stone
5 lidas - Red stone

The larp will also use simplified prices, so as not to make the calculation a cumbersome process. For example: drinks cost 1 lidas, a meal 2 lidas, a room for the night 3 lidas, etc. A menu will exist during the larp that defines prices.

• System symbols
During this larp, some symbols of different designs will appear. If you have not received mention of such a symbol in your character you should treat them as OFF, i.e. as if they do not exist. These can be found on paper, letters, notes and objects. Example:

• Sorcery
Sorcery abilities will be used as such: the sorceror player places a hand on the shoulder of the person on whom they intend to use their powers. Then they utter the code word VERITAS, and make sure that the "receiver" has understood that an ability is being used. When the sorceror player is sure that the person has understood and is listening, they briefly describe the effect.

We will go through this during the larp pre-brief, and those who prefer not to be touched do not have to be, so for them another alternative is used.

Many of the spells can affect the character's feelings or thoughts - but they can not control them. So those who are influenced by magic sorcery are encouraged to use it in a way that feels natural to the character. If the effect is contrary to the character’s nature, then pure confusion is a fully acceptable alternative. Most effects subside in a few minutes - the more intense the effect, the shorter the duration.

• Letters and contracts
This larp will use auxiliary information in envelopes with symbols drawn on.

One use for this is negotiation contracts. These are not tangible objects that can be stolen, destroyed or manipulated, but are rather representative of promises and agreements. They should not be opened before the end of the larp (other than by those who hold them at the beginning of the larp).

In addition, letters and papers with system symbols drawn or pasted on will exist. Only those who have system symbols defined in their characters can open these and read them. Whether they then communicate the information they provide is up to them.

• Recommended equipment •

Only clothing and whatever props you deem necessary are needed, anything else will be provided unless specified for you personally.

OBS :
Serans, the Rakkhari people and Javenians are encouraged to have pointy ear prostethics, though this is not mandatory.

OBS 2 :
Javenian facial tattoos follow certain patters (see below). Seran eye makeup is done according to family tradition, but can be done according to your own taste during the larp. Mountainborn tattoos are usually either two or three and symbolize certain virtues (see below).
OBS 3 :
The tavern is a weapon-free environment, so there is no need to bring prop weapons. On the whole, physical altercations are discouraged during the larp (you'd pretty much end up getting thrown out and not let back in).

• Clothing •

It is nice if your clothing matches the setting's color coding, but it is by no means mandatory – you decide how much you want to invest and how. The way cultures influence each other is a central theme in the setting, which means that mixing the different styles is very possible if it makes sense for your character. Below is more information about clothing, patterns and jewelry, together with simple color maps (three most common colors + accent color) for those that want to follow the color coding.

OBS :
Javenesian style is generally only worn by Javenians, and the Mountainborns' more primitive clothing are generally only worn by them. As the game takes place in Lenori, the Lenorian style is perhaps the most likely one to take inspiration from, beyond the character's own culture. The limited color schemes used in the concept art is mainly are mainly to create visual character, rather than an in-world limitation of color usage.

Lenorian clothing

The Lenorians favor practical, durable clothes. Clothes which are as comfortable on the fields and in the woods as they are on the open seas. Ponchos, headwraps and scarves are items that can be found in every person's wardrobe. Given the Lenorians' love for festivities, they put great care into their festive attires, which are only worn at special celebrations (and what celebration isn't special?)

More than anything else, the Lenorians have patterns with intricate shapes, lines and patterns. Sometimes mimicing the waves of the ocean, and sometimes the shapes of the forest.

Few of them actually bother to put much care into their hair, and as such they often wear it long or semi-long, but always at least a little bit messy.Though some share the Mountainborns' penchant for uneven haircuts, most Lenorians keep their hair practical. Though few decorate their hair, many put a lot of thought into their headwraps, especially those used for festive occasions. Beards are mostly reserved for those that travel the seas, or hold other distinguished positions.

Jewelry and accessories in Lenori are almost always made out of wood, leather or stone. And given their practical nature, most people only own a few pieces. That's not to say that the Lenorians don't like dressing up for festivities, only that they place more care in clothing than jewelry. Items made by someone dear will, of course, have a great value and are worn as often as possible.

Examples:

Seran clothing

The Serans often prefer dark, somber colors. Their clothes have clean, straight lines, as severe as the Serans themselves. Heavy coats or multiple layers of fine cloth are vital in the chilly climate. Different types of dark lace is common, both as decorations on clothing as well as pieces of clothing in itself.

Serans mostly prefer minimalistic patterns, either with strict line-work or floral motifs. Silver ribbons are often used to line the edges of clothing

Hair is almost always worn long, in simple, yet elegant styles with thin braids and only small, subtle decorations. Moustaches and beards are not too commonplace, but are always kept well managed and slim.

Jewellery is usually made of metal, as well as simple gems. Nothing should be too flashy or glimmering - they see beauty in the subtle more than in the extravagant.

Examples:

Javenian clothing

Javenian clothing is extremely diverse, though most favour clothing made out of thin, light fabrics. Because of the sorcery-manipulated climate, they have little need for warm or thick (or covering) clothing. The more extravagant, the better. There are of course deviations from this in the different subcultures (Selamandeshi Javenians tend to be more conservative, for example), but on the whole, Javenian clothes are seen as something which should emphasize the natural beauty inherent in the body, whether it shows skin or not.

Circle-based patterns as well as floral and intricate linework are used to a very large degree.

Hair is worn every possible way you could imagine, save for straight and undecorated. Few refrain from decorating their hair with ribbons, jewellery, beads, flowers or similar accessories, no matter if they are men or women.

Jewellery most often comes in the forms of metal or glass (both traditional and sorcerer's glass). The more jewellery, the better, according to Javenians - to the point where some wear jewels instead of articles of clothing. Jewellery and accessories in Javenna take on a wide variety of designs, as they are influenced by very diverse cultures.

Examples:

Norni clothing

Since the Lenorians and the Norni have a common cultural origin their clothing is very similar. In Norn, more emphasis is placed on showing off class however, and they use more leather and fur.

Your clothes should at all times reflect your status in society, and that can mean several things. There are two main ways that status is reflected: Certain garments are reserved for certain positions or classes in society, and certain materials should only be worn by higher status individuals. Furs are used very often, but the more exclusive or rare the animal, the higher status you need to be to wear it without scorn. The poncho is a very common piece of clothing, and comes in many different styles. Due to the windy climate of Norn, pants are often more preferred than skirts or similar, but skirts of different styles may be worn on top of these. Thin fur coats and scarves are very popular as well, either as decorative garments or proper clothing. Headwear is also very important, as Norn in a rather rainy nation. Most headwear come in two distinct styles, one of which is a wide-brimmed hat, often covered with veils or other decorations. The other is a hood- or veil-like piece that hangs down on the sided and back of the head, being bound with ribbons or strings.

Most clothing patterns are based on sharp geometrical designs, interspersed with symbols from the sea (Waves, seashells, etc)or the forest (leaves, branches, etc). There is also an old tradition of making patterns through patchwork, where overlapping pieces of cloth are sown together to form patterns from shapes and colours.

Braiding and knots are usually the basis for hairstyles in Norn, ranging from commoners' styles with simple ribbons, to the mind-boggling styles of the noble, whose braid-work takes hours and is weighed down by fistfuls of decorations and chains. It is not uncommon to use beads in the hair, made from both metal and wood. Moustaches and beards are usually not worn by younger men, but reserved for those of a more respectable age or position. When worn, however, they are grown long and bushy, though still kept neat and sometime decorated with beadwork.

Metal combined with fine woodwork is very popular as jewellery in Norn, where intricate shapes twist and bend into an elegant whole. In many cases, jewellery takes inspiration from shapes and motifs from nature. Elegant neckpieces are the most favored, but ear jewellery and armbands/bracelets are a very close second. It is more or less expected that you adjust your adornments according to your status. As you grow in status, so does the amount of decorations.
