Characters and character writing

We start from scratch. Those that were signed up to earlier attempts will need to sign up again - but they will have an opportunity to sign up early and select characters from the updated list starting on the 13th of March at 12.00.

Below is a list of characters, grouped according to character type and allegiance. All characters work according to the same principle: players can make requests or provide ideas regarding their character when they sign up. Players will then be sent a character foundation, which they are expected to develop in whatever way they feel makes their game better in cooperation with the organisers. It is each and every player’s individual responsibility to do the work that best improves your own larp experience.

Note that ordinary visitors have the choice to write their character from scratch themselves, with the support of the organisers.

All characters can be played as male/female/nonbinary.

For more information about the cultures mentioned below, see Culture info.

Names marked in blue are available characters.
Names marked in red are reserved characters.

• INDEPENDENTS •

(1-7, the more the merrier) Characters who, for one reason or another, could have an interest in the future of the Blind Wolf and the different groups’ goals. These characters are unbound at the start of the game, even if they might belong to the same culture as one of the groups. This gives them the opportunity to lend their influence to whatever group can make them the best offer. Their motives are mentioned briefly here, but have more nuance and depth in the final characters.

• Aratof/Aneryf Irmograf - The Nornean Rebel Family - (Nornean)

• Beren / Erenni - House of Carvers - (Rakkharier)
Member of the House of Carvers, a far-reaching criminal organisation with its heart in the Rakkhari province Gabbardan. Constantly trying to strengthen their own position by getting others indebted to the House.

Perhaps you’re in the mood to larp in a more relaxed manner, focusing on games, songs, drink and food or storytelling? Or perhaps you’re trying out larping for the first time? Then it a visitor character may be the nicest alternative!

These characters go more for social and atmospheric play and they can choose themselves how they spend their night at the Blind Wolf. These characters will have less focus on their background and long-term plans, and more on what they want out of a nice evening at a tavern and how they can contribute to the atmosphere.

This is why all visitor characters will be given one or two mood stories by the organisers - these are personal experiences your characters has been through and can tell others about (and probably want to quite a lot). The stories touch upon every aspect of the game world and tell about events, things and places that are otherwise impossible to bring into a larp environment. They are unique to each character - no one else is going to have the same stories as you, which means that if you do not tell them, no one will hear about it. You can look at these stories as the kind of "You'll never believe what happened to me last week" kind of stories you'd tell your friends at a party or in a bar.

Story examples (the final stories will naturally be longer, about a half to a full a4 in length)

You were one of those who first got in contact with the people of Sutesh close to the Lenorian colony Gard Aval.

Last week you encountered a creature you've never even heard about before, and people need to hear about it!

You recently returned from assisting in a Seran diplomatic expedition to the Rakkhari Commonwealth, a trip which changed you in more than one way.

During signup you can choose which stories you'd like to have included in your character - these can in turn give you more ideas about how you want to develop the character. Beyond these stories there will also be more common and unusual rumors in the game.
